Growing out of collaborative training and professional development efforts of the Western Washington Football Officials Association (WWFOA) and the South Sound Football Officials Association (SSFOA), the Gridiron Officials Camp (GOC) is now planning its fifth season (2019) of delivering standards-based instruction and mentoring for High School Football Officials from all parts of the Western United States and beyond.
This Camp is operated in conjunction with the Gridiron of Champions Summer Team Camps sponsored by Steve Gervais. Each summer, Steve's Gridiron Camps bring together as many as 10 – 12 quality High School football programs for four days of instruction, drills, and scrimmages.
Football Officials attending the Gridiron Officials Camp receive 8+ hours of individual and crew instruction in the classroom but primarily on the field. The two Camps come together during the scrimmages, when the Football Officials take the field with the players and coaches to hone skills, tune communications, and improve the game of High School Football. Officials attending the GOC typically will have the opportunity to work up to 3 scrimmages daily under the watchful eye of a mentor during the multiple scrimmage sessions.
