Gridiron Officials’ Football Camp is co-located with the popular Washington state high school football teams’ camp, the Tumwater Team Camp.
Camp Highlights:
Camp Highlights:
- Is limited to 50 officials.
- Includes general liability and L&I insurance coverages.
- Features both classroom instruction (limited) and field instruction; plus scrimmages with high school teams.
- Will provide instructors, mentors and former Washington State Observers; includes a written Observer report and video. Instructors, mentors and observers have over 794 combined years of experience and have collectively worked more than 267 Semi-Finals or Championship games.
- Will use the Washington State Football Mechanics Manual for classroom and field instruction. For those officials attending from out-of-state, this manual is similar to Mechanics Illustrated as published by Referee.com.
- Features Stadium and practice football fields (turf & grass); Camp Officials can anticipate over 600 snaps.
- Camp position assignments will be made with every effort to assign you to your primary position, however if there are insufficient officials to make a full crew, you may be asked to work at your secondary position.
- Special lodging arrangements have been made with the Best Western (5188 Capitol Boulevard SE, Tumwater WA. Hotel Phone: 360.956.1235) which is a couple miles from Tumwater High School.
- The special room rate per night is $134.00 plus tax for all officials. When you call to make your reservations tell them that you are with the Gridiron Officials Camp to get the discounted rate. This is a first come first serve basis and the hotel fills up fast especially this year with the Soccer World Cup as Olympia has been designated as one of the lodging destinations, so you will need to make your reservations quickly.
